Welcome to The Mission High Point

The Mission is a community church that was born out of Helping Hands Ministry, an emergency food assistance agency in High Point, North Carolina. Pastor John Langdon, and his wife Joyce, founded Helping Hands Ministry as a response to the kindness of a “Good Samaritan” who extended a helping hand to them during a time of great need in their lives. Fifteen years later Pastor Langdon and a group of dedicated believers formed The Mission High Point to help meet the needs of the spiritual man just as Helping Hands helps meet the needs of the physical man. At The Mission, we are dedicated to helping people become disciples of Jesus Christ and to know the Lord more intimately through teaching, worship, fellowship and outreach into both the local community and abroad.

Our desire is to Love God, Love People and Serve in the Kingdom. The Old Testament scripture known as The Shema (Deut. 6:4) says that we are to love God with all of our heart, soul and strength. Our love for God should be so great that there is no doubt who we are devoted to, or to whom we belong. In the book of Matthew (22:37-40), Jesus tells us that loving God with great devotion is the most important thing we can do with our life, and that the second greatest thing we can do is to love other people just as we love ourselves. That means loving our families, our co-workers, our fellow church members, our next door neighbors, and even our enemies. The Bible speaks often of the command for believers of Jesus Christ to meet the needs of widows, orphans, the poor and the needy. At the Mission, we believe that this is maximized by building relationships. Relationships can only be built by spending time together and investing into one another’s lives.

We encourage you to get to know us and let us get to know you! Spend some time here, on our website, and then join us for fellowship. We gather on Sunday mornings at 10:00 and would love to have you meet with us as we corporately worship and seek God. As we become more intimate with our Creator and gain greater understanding of our true identity attained through His mercy and grace, our lives are changed and we are set free.

If you are hungry for change in your life…
If you are thirsty for times of refreshing…
